Property Acquisition & Disposition
APM has engaged and managed due diligence teams to evaluate title, regulatory, environmental, survey, asset condition, and valuation characteristics of properties under consideration for acquisition, and supported negotiations for acquisition of rail corridors and parcels in Charlestown, Watertown, Worcester and Southbridge, Massachusetts. APM has also drafted lease, license, and easement documents for transactions involving the transfer of property interests throughout Massachusetts.
As part of a small, dedicated team assembled by the Secretary of Transportation, Ms. Conley and the APM team helped to secure the acquisition of a major network of rail lines in eastern Massachusetts for use as shared passenger and freight rail transportation corridors. This transaction represents the largest acquisition of railroad property by the Commonwealth in more than 25 years, and will allow the Commonwealth to secure key transportation and economic development initiatives.
